Sleek Reflection Photoshop CS3 Tutorial
Don't you LOVE those Apple advertisements with the products resting stylishly on a sleek reflective surface! Well, it's very easy to get that look - the following is a simple Photoshop tutorial that will show you how to make it appear as though your image is set on clean reflective surface in three easy steps!
Step 1: Pick your image.
I'm using a photo of an iPod Nano in this example.
Step 2: Duplicate & Flip.
Duplicate the layer that you wish to reflect by selecting the layer. Control Click --> select Duplicate Layer.
Flip the layer you wish to reflect vertically by selecting Edit --> Transform --> Flip Vertical.
Step 3: Add Opacity & Gradient.
Change the opacity of your duplicated image to about 25%.
Then select the Gradient tool and choose a White Foreground to a Transparent Gradient. On the reflected layer pull the gradient from the bottom of the reflected image up toward the original image.

To get a more refined look go over the bottom of the original image with the Pen tool to give the appearance of a slight shadow between the original image and the reflective surface.
